Your new favorite league is back!
Cobb County Spring League will take place on Mondays at Terrell Mill Park.
Games will begin on March 18th. The regular season will last seven weeks, followed by an End of Season tournament, which will take place on consecutive Mondays.
In order to help encourage north metro opportunities, the AFDC is stepping in to help build teams, using our normal draft process. Cobb County is following AFDC rules, so it should be like what you’re used to.
The format will be 5/2. Your team will play one 90-minute game to 15 points each week, either at 7pm, 8:30pm, or 9pm.
Individual registration opens Wednesday, February 27th, at noon, and runs through March 15th. Fee: $20!
Note: If you have a legitimate need (eg, work, day-care), we may try to put together a team that plays more early games. Please note that on your registration.
Also, the 7pm and 8:30pm rounds will be played on a grass softball outfield. The 9pm round will be played on a turf soccer field. If you don’t mind playing at 9pm and wouldn’t mind playing more games on turf, please note that on your registration.
If you’re interested in captaining, or have any questions, send an email to Chris Blackburn at afdcnorth at gmail dot com.
(Note from Blackburn: I’m traveling through 3/3, so I may not be able to respond in a reasonable fashion. If you’d be interested in captaining, hit me up, and start recruiting people that you might like to play with – and get them to sign up. We might do small cores, but I’m not sure yet – likely something like the “weighted hat” that we did in the fall. Also, I want at least one woman to be a captain. If you’ve never captained before this would be a great first league to give it a shot – and I’m happy to help.)
