Ballots may be returned via US Mail, and must arrive at the AFDC post office box at least one day before the Final Tournament in order to be counted. Ballots may also be returned at the Final Season party itself before 10PM.

The Mid-Season Tournament

The Mid-Season tournament will be held the weekend of July 19th and 20th at the following metro-Atlanta locations:

  • Sequoyah - 3 Fields, North on 85 just inside the perimeter
  • Coan - 3 Fields; Middle School and Rec Center, South of Little 5 Points, North of 20
  • Winnona - 2 Fields; in Decatur near Agnes Scott
  • Walker - 2 Fields; North of 20, South of Coan
  • Grant - 2 Fields; just east of 20 - 75/85 intersection.

For directions to any of these fields, please visit the AFDC web site at www.afdc.com or call the AFDC hotline at 404-351-0914.

It has not yet been determined which teams will play at which field- that will depend on the final results of the league round-robin, which will be completed on Thursday July 17th. Captains will be notified and will be responsible for informing their players of the times and places of their games.

A league-wide party will be held the night of Saturday July 19th after all games for the day have been completed. Information on the festivities will be posted on the AFDC web site and passed along to the captains prior to the tournament. All league members are invited!

Etc…

  • Rain-out rescheduled: Summer League games that were cancelled on the night of Tuesday June 17th are now rescheduled for Thursday July 17th at the same times and places.
  • Interesting stats: the AFDC web site (www.afdc.com) has up-to-the-minute league standings in the Summer League section as well as Strength-of-Schedule and Strength-of-Roster stats in the Forum section. How does your team measure up- have you played all the "hard" teams already so you can coast for the next two weeks? Does your team’s average player ranking after the draft jive with your original team ranking? Check it out! (Thanks to Hale Brown and Mark Stadter for their hard work!)
  • There has been some recent talk about the AFDC organizing a fall ultimate league. If you are interested in either organizing or participating in a fall league, please contact any member of the Steering Committee or call the AFDC hotline at 404-351-0914.
