Ranking Guidelines

AFDC uses a ranking system from 0-9 to help assess a player’s skill level (0 being for players that have never played before with 9 being elite level players). These player ranks help us balance teams and make competition more even. Accurate rankings are especially important for players new to our leagues.

When players create a profile or register for a league through our leagues page, they will be asked to fill out our update our gRank questionnaire. While 0 and 9 are defined above, the questionnaire helps with placement between the two. Questions should be answered honestly and with spirit of the game in mind!  The questionnaire considers the following criteria to set a player’s rank:

  • Experience – pick-up, league, organized college or club level, etc.
  • Level of play – how competitive your prior experience was
  • Athleticism
  • Ultimate skills

The following definitions might help you answer these questions.
