Help teach summer camps
The City of Atlanta, Department of Parks and Recreation has invited the AFDC to help with summer teen camps this year, from June 2 to July 31. We are rounding up interested AFDC’ers who’d like to lead 1 to 2 hour sessions and serve as Ultimate ambassadors. We have a great opportunity to support and build-up an under-served population of boys and girls in our own backyard. Continue reading
Spring 2014 Goalty EoS
The spring end of season tournaments this year were pretty dang awesome. There were great people playing good ultimate and goaltimate in weather that could not have been any more beautiful. Our hats off to you commissioners and weather machine operators!
Atlanta to host USAU Southeast Club Regionals
The AFDC is proud to announce that Atlanta will be hosting the 2014 Southeastern Club Regional tournament September 27-28th.
How to: Being a Good Captain
First, thank you for being a captain. It’s the front line of volunteering in the AFDC. Taking on a leadership role is one of the best ways to give back to the Ultimate community.
As a captain you have an immense effect on your team’s experience. New players often recount the great time they had with their first team or how much they learned from their first captain. Many players credit captains as having hooked them on Ultimate or shaped the way they play the game.
The AFDC would like as many players as possible to share in that experience. We’d love to encourage all captains to provide a similar foundation while still applying their personal style. Here is a list that we hope will prove as useful advice to all captains. Continue reading
AFDC Grants Spring 2014
AFDC Grants is now accepting applications for grants ranging from $25 to $375 to help youth and college ultimate athletes attend fitness/skills camps or join leagues. Grants will be paid directly to the camp or league of each recipient’s choice and will be applied to admission/membership fees.

ATL Classic 2014
ATL Classic is a great early season tourney for teams who are building out their rosters and preparing for the Triple Crown Tour. We draw teams from all over the Southeast. For 2014, we have also added a Youth division geared for teams who will be training for the 2014 Youth Club Championships later this summer. ATL Classic will be a USAU sanctioned tourney.
