The City of Atlanta, Department of Parks and Recreation has invited the AFDC to help with summer teen camps this year, from June 2 to July 31. We are rounding up interested AFDC’ers who’d like to lead 1 to 2 hour sessions and serve as Ultimate ambassadors. We have a great opportunity to support and build-up an under-served population of boys and girls in our own backyard.
It’s likely these youth have never seen or even heard of Ultimate! So let’s put some of our world-class talent, experience, and spirit to work.
The different recreation centers are:
Collier Recreation Center
Orange Recreation Center
Perkerson Recreation Center
Zaban Recreation Center
We will be working with the camp kids on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in the late morning and at special events. The camp youth range in age from 15-18; you’ll need to be at least 18 years old to help with this effort. Students, we can give you community service hours for your time.
