Several local middle schools are eager to find adult coaches to help with their middle school Ultimate programs this fall, either full-time or part-time.
Right now, there’s a notable shortage of coaches. For example, Inman Middle School last year had 108 students playing Ultimate, but, at the moment, there’s only enough staff for 50 students to play.
Most schools practice twice a week with an end-of-season tournament.
The AFDC is also hosting a free Ultimate Jamboree at Piedmont Park this Saturday, August 18th, from 1pm-3pm, for all middle schoolers. Any adult willing to help coach would only be needed for an hour or so.
